Lantana is a very common tropical and subtropical plant and in those areas an invasive species. In boreal region it survives the winters only inside the houses without any danger for the nature. Lantana grows quickly and its branches have a lot of sharp thorns tearing easily both the clothes and the skin. The flowers may have many different colors, even in the same plant. The tropical diurnal butterflies can't resist these flowers, so the butterfly collectors seek flowering lantanas as well. But it is better to bring with you more than a single net, because the branches of lantana tears also the butterfly net before or later.
