This succulent grows in my garden both as an original wild plant and a commercial decorative variety with pink flowers. Telephium is the food plant for the rare butterfly Parnassius apollo which has disappeared from our district. There are a lot of Hyotelephium-full rocks nearby, so maybe this giant butterfly will be back some day. Another protected species, the small blue Scolidantides orion feeds also with this succulent.
