An aromatic small bush often growing wild near the lakes or some other wet places. I have just one Myrica gale, transported from my friend's summer cottage on our biggest lake Saimaa. Near my house M.gale is uncommon just near the seaside. The leaves are said to be some poisonous but they are also used as spice in the kitchen. Before they were used to give taste for beer, but often with a strong hangover as result.
