This is my favourite plant of many reason: its female flowers are used to spice the IPA-beer which I like and it is a food plant a rare moth Hypena rostralis. Also the plant is a beautiful and extremely fast growing creeper reaching height of 5 meters already in June. I found my male seedling in the forest 2006. Because of its gender I can be sure that my Humulus belongs to the wild natural tribe, because all the feral cultivated tribes are always females.
