A common kitchen species found in every finnish garden and sold in all garden shops and supermarkets. But this plant grows also wild especially on the Baltic sea islands, usually on the rocks. My garden is located 500m from the Finnish gulf and there happens to be a high rock behind my house, full of different plants. The fissile stone contains apparently soluble minerals as for example calcium, which offers excellent conditions for a large diversity. Thus not any miracle schoenoprasum can also be found here.
