This North American species is often seen in gardens here, mostly due to its great white bunches of flowers. H. arborescens is not very hardy and the branches may freeze during the winter, but they need just be cut and let to grow back next summer. In my garden that has not happened yet. In the eastern slope I have made 6 terraces, one plant i large amount on each step. It is beautiful at flowering time, but after that it turns more or less boring. Thats why I bought H.arborescens to brake the surrounding green harmony with its showy flowers.
