I found a seedling of this species in my favorite mushroom forest 2016, planted it in my garden and now it has become a big tree. Hippocastanum is very seldom seen in finish forests but in parks it is quite common. It produces nut here as well, but they seldom germinate in our climate. The nut is not edible.
